Physical and Art Education

Our school places great emphasis on the aesthetic development of students. We actively promote comprehensive learning to help students develop their artistic appreciation and gain satisfaction from participating in artistic creation and performance, ultimately enhancing their artistic quality over the long term.

Art Education

Interdisciplinary Curriculum Integration

Our Visual Arts, Music, and Drama Education teams collaborate to design cross-art learning programs that help students connect knowledge with their learning experiences. We actively introduce various artistic media, such as pottery, photography, architecture, and short film production, into our art curriculum, providing a balanced arts education. In addition to basic art education courses in junior secondary, we offer elective visual arts courses in senior secondary. High school students can further explore different areas of artistic creation through other learning experiences, systematically enhancing their confidence and abilities in artistic appreciation and creation.

Diverse Artistic Activities

In the realm of visual arts, our "Art Society" offers interested students opportunities for artistic learning and creation outside of the classroom. The "Art Competition Group" allows our artistic talents to excel, participating in external competitions to build their confidence. In music, we allocate resources to establish the Marian College Chinese Orchestra and various music interest classes, including violin, guzheng, pop band, guitar, a cappella, and choir. Each year, we hold an Arts Week featuring themed activities such as book fairs, art performances, creative activities, and field trips to enhance students' interest and knowledge of the arts, broadening their artistic horizons.

Physical Education

Our school is committed to promoting a wide range of sports activities and disciplines. In addition to common physical sports, we introduce martial arts such as Wing Chun, judo, and bouldering to meet diverse student interests and needs. We actively organize school-wide sports events, including the Maryknoll Run, inter-class ball games, and athletic meets, encouraging students to enjoy the fun of sports. We also hold seminars on nutrition, first aid, and sports safety to help students maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We invest significant resources in hiring professional coaches to enhance team training, improving students' teamwork skills and cultivating perseverance. Our "Athletic Talent Identification" program seeks to discover students with athletic potential through various testing tools and workshops, arranging targeted training for students and encouraging participation in different sports teams. Our sports teams include football, basketball, athletics, badminton, volleyball, and judo, competing in relevant inter-school competitions and public events, as well as organizing domestic or international sports exchange programs.

Additionally, we actively encourage students to develop their physical fitness and cultivate healthy exercise habits. Through regular course arrangements, we instill the habit of physical training, teaching students various sports knowledge to enhance their personal athletic abilities and promote a healthy lifestyle. Through team sports, students learn cooperation, communication, and coordination skills, motivating them to strive for excellence in competitions and sports.
