遊學交流

遊學交流活動融合「遊歷」與「學習」的元素。本校致力籌辦不同的遊學交流及考察團,為學生提供校園及香港境外的的學習機會,進一步體驗 「讀萬卷書,不如行萬里路」。


學生透過到國內的親身遊學,加深其對祖國的歷史文化、社會發展及人民生活的了解。參與海外交流團亦讓學生了解國外文化及全球發展趨勢,拓寬國際視野。 境外遊學亦希望培養學生獨立自信,提升人際溝通的能力。

 

AFS 國際交流生計劃

 

瑪利諾中學自2019年起成為AFS 計劃香港區伙伴學校,每年接待一位外籍生就讀本校,學生來自不同歐洲、美洲及亞洲等地;本校學生每年亦可透過計劃申請成為海外交流生,入讀當地中學。
 

 

My Unforgettable Learning Experience - Federica Parisi 

  

I really enjoyed my life in Maryknoll from the beginning to the end. During my year there, I attended different subjects, such as English, Mathematics, Visual Arts (VA), Physical Education (PE) and Physics. Sometimes, I would take part in Other Learning Experience (OLE). Some differences I notice in teaching would be how Science is taught. While Italian schools mostly focus on the theoretical aspects and rarely use the laboratories, Physics and other Technology Science lessons here use a more practical approach, so I was very happy and surprised to be able to do some experiments in the lab. VA was a very interesting subject that I had never tried in Italy, even though I’m not very good at drawing or painting. Sometimes, the teacher even mentioned arts in Italy, which made me feel proud and allowed me to learn more about both Italian and Chinese cultures.  

 

PE in Hong Kong seems to be much more important than in Italy. Unfortunately, sports are not very valued in Italian schools, like how there’s no such thing as school sports team, team colours or Sports Day, which is a bit sad for a sport-lover like me. If you want to do sports in Italy, you have to join a local club depending on the sport you want to practice. During my time here, I joined the athletics team, even joined the inter-school competition with other girls. I found the training quite similar to my practice in Italy, but the main difference is that in Italy we don’t train at school. I believe any school should focus more on physical education like Maryknoll. It helps students stay healthy and develop their skills. I also joined Sports Day, where I proudly won four medals in long jump, 100 meters, class relay, and team relay. 

  

I have always loved Asian culture, which is one of the main reasons I chose Hong Kong for my exchange. Held at Maryknoll with the help of local students, AFS Hong Kong organized Cantonese classes for all exchange students. This club also helped me get closer to other Maryknoll students, and I made many friends through it. With my friends and host family, I visited many beautiful places and tried lots of delicious food — one of my favourite aspects of Hong Kong culture! I’m sad that I can’t eat the same food in Italy, because even if we have Chinese restaurants, the taste’s just not the same. 

 

My year in Maryknoll has been unforgettable. I would like to thank my class teacher, Ms Chu, who always helped me throughout the year — with lessons, classmates and any doubts I had. I’m also grateful to all the other teachers who supported me during my time in Maryknoll. I’ve learned so much not only about Hong Kong’s culture, language, and school life, but also about myself. I have made wonderful friends and faced new challenges, hence have grown up to be a better person. I will always keep this experience close to my heart and hope to return to Hong Kong one day. 
 

意大利遊學歷記——陳偉俊同學 

 

我於初中時期在老師推薦下加入AFS學會,有機會認識來自世界的交流生,逐漸對國際文化產生濃厚興趣。我十分感謝在家人及學會老師的支持下令我成功申請成為國際交流生計劃的交換生,我希望透過參與海外留學能令自己更獨立 ,並且提升個人的英語能力。 

 

AFS 計劃其中一個特色是我能夠選擇住在寄宿家庭(Host Family),令我以最快的方式融入異地的生活。通過與當地家庭的共同生活,我能夠學習他們最「原汁原味」的生活方式,認識烹調各式各樣的意大利料理及甜品 ;我的意大利「家人」更時常帶我遊覽名勝古蹟,讓我深刻感受歐洲深厚的歷史文化。 

 

此外,我入住的家庭是經營藥品生意,我因而有機會參觀藥廠進一步認識藥物生產、生物科技等知識,讓我這位生物及物理的學生大開眼界!另外 ,我入讀了當地語言學校,在短短一年間很快便學懂意大利語、法語、西班牙語等多國語言,能輕鬆自信地與不同國籍的同學溝通,結識了不少朋友。 

 

當然,身處異鄉的我在交流的早期也有不適應的時間,我十分感謝學會老師不時傳達關心的信息,令我倍感溫暖。我也希望鼓勵各同學們活在當下(vivere il momento)拋開一切過往失意或困難的事情,把握現在勇於嘗試,為自己的人生創造難忘的學習回憶。 

 

日本富士山登山交流團

 

本校舉辦日本富士山登山交流團,通過攀登高山,訓練學生意志力。經過半年的培訓,最終選拔出20名學生參加。在登山過程中,學生展現出堅持不懈的精神,即使因天氣未能登頂,也從中獲益良多。此外,交流團還包括其他豐富活動,如文化體驗、學校交流等。學生們挑戰自我,跳出舒適圈,嘗試很多人生的「第一次」,擴闊視野,獲得難能可貴的經歷。
