Following the visit of teachers and students from our sister school, Guangzhou Jinan Hong Kong and Macau Students School (ASJ), to our school at the end of September 2024, our school's gifted math students participated in the "Guangzhou Math Exchange Tour" from February 13 to 15. On February 14, they visited Guangzhou Jinan Hong Kong and Macau Students School. On that day, the ASJ principal and directors introduced the school and led a campus tour. Maryknoll student representatives shared their experiences with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education elective subjects and the journey of choosing subjects in Form 3. They also attended math classes with students from various grades. We are grateful to the ASJ principal, directors, and teachers for their meticulous arrangements and warm hospitality. The students from both schools interacted and exchanged ideas, greatly benefiting Maryknoll students and strengthening the friendship between the sister schools.
The activities also included visits to the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Guangdong Science Center, where math enthusiasts saw many games and models involving mathematical principles, fully engaging in the learning experience. Additionally, students visited the Cultural and Art Museum and GAC Technology Museum, learning about the latest developments in domestic arts and technology. They also toured Yongqingfang and Shawan Ancient Town, appreciating ancient national architecture and experiencing the local cultural atmosphere.
The students who participated in this exchange tour were fully engaged and benefited greatly. Our school encourages students to seize opportunities to participate in exchange tours, understand the current and future social development of the country, and broaden their horizons.
