Civic Education-Kaiping Study Tour

Our Form 5 students successfully completed the three-day, two-night Civic Education "Kaiping and Yangjiang Cultural Conservation and Maritime Silk Road Mainland Study Tour" organized by the Education Bureau.

On the first day, students visited the Maritime Silk Road Museum on Hailing Island in Yangjiang City, where they admired the ancient shipwreck Nanhai No. 1 and related precious artifacts. This visit helped them understand the historical importance of Guangdong Province as a coastal city in promoting national land trade and learn about the involvement of modern Hong Kong maritime archaeologists in the conservation of national maritime historical relics.

On the second and third days, students visited the famous Diaolou buildings in Kaiping, Chikan Ancient Town, and the Overseas Chinese Museum. In addition to experiencing the uniqueness of Chinese and Western architecture firsthand, the guided exhibitions allowed students to deeply appreciate the hardworking and resilient patriotic spirit of the Chinese people. They also learned how overseas Chinese have brought international trade and cultural experiences back to their homeland over the past century, contributing to the country's economic, social, and cultural development.
