Congratulations on Chan Yuk Hei’s third time on the Dean’s List of the Arts Faculty in Chinese University of Hong Kong

Our alumnus Chan Yuk Hei was invited to share her learning reflections at the award ceremony. She believed her outstanding results not being accidental, but driven by two key attitudes: curiosity and humility.

Looking back on her academic journey, she had actually been curious about the small moments around her since a very young age. In secondary school, she chose to study Chinese History and Economics; in university, she continued to study History. Throughout her studies, she actively participated in field trips across Hong Kong, Macao and Mainland China, visited museums, and conducted interviews on world heritage. She also studied in libraries and completed group projects late into the night with like-minded friends—these experiences taught her that learning is not only about personal achievement, but also valuing the process of exploring knowledge together.

At the same time, she reminded herself that in an era of information overload and artificial intelligence, it is important to stay humble, learn from mistakes, seek guidance from teachers and peers, and cultivate a habit of lifelong learning.
