Our school is dedicated to promoting a culture of reading, aiming for students to develop good reading habits in both classroom and daily life, thereby broadening their perspectives through literature.
Reading and Learning
In terms of curriculum, all subject designs incorporate elements of reading promotion. This includes recommending books in class, setting reading requirements tailored to the abilities of students at various levels, and designing diverse reading assignments.
Outside the curriculum, our school boasts a well-equipped library with a wide range of extracurricular books, multimedia resources, and reference materials. We regularly hold themed book exhibitions to introduce students to knowledge beyond their subjects. We also have an electronic library where students can access a wealth of reading resources, fostering diverse reading interests.
Reading and Life
Our school features a two-story library where students can enjoy reading in a quiet and comfortable environment during breaks and after school. The library also includes outdoor reading and relaxation spaces, as well as discussion rooms, making it convenient for study activities.
In terms of activities, our "Maryknoll Reading Club" regularly organizes book exhibitions, film sharing sessions, seminars, reading tea gatherings, and author talks. These initiatives, along with our reading promotion plan and class reading competitions, aim to cultivate a lifelong habit of reading among students.
